The engineers of MLAW are specialists in all disciplines related to light frame structures. They have established high industry standards for foundations for residential homes on sites with problematic soils. The work of Dr. Robert L. Lytton, Senior Consultant, in the area of expansive soils has resulted in the current Post-Tensioning Institute design procedure for slabs-on-ground over expansive and compressive soils. Dr. Lytton and Kirby T. Meyer, Chairman, have authored numerous articles and reports on the subject of foundations on expansive and compressive soils, including soil testing methods, analysis and design as well as post-construction testing of foundations and structures.
